There’s something truly magical about the combination of little ones, their favourite teddies, and a bit of sunshine. This week, our KG1 classroom was transformed into a brilliant picnic spot for our annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic, and it was an absolute triumph!
A Morning of Snacks, Songs, and Smiles
The adventure began as our little learners found the perfect spot on the gingham blankets to settle in with their cuddly guests. The room was buzzing with excitement as they enjoyed a lovely snack time with their teddies—a truly heart-warming sight!
But the fun didn’t stop there. The picnic was all about engaging our preschoolers in a variety of fun learning activities. We moved from our picnic rugs into a world of creativity and movement.

Creative Station: The children created fabulous “Teddy Bear Ear Headbands,” a simple craft that brillianty boosts fine motor skills and sparks imagination.

Dance Party: We put on some lively tunes for a proper teddy bear boogie! It was the perfect way to get those wiggles out and practise moving to a rhythm.

Storytime Circle: To bring things to a calm finish, we gathered for a cosy story session, listening to classic tales of bear adventures. It’s a wonderful way to develop listening skills and a love for books.
More Than Just Adorable: The Learning Behind the Fun
At our kindergarten, we believe the most powerful learning happens through play. This Teddy Bears’ Picnic was carefully planned to support key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS):
