Cambridge Examination Center and Milestones

In 1995, EMS became a registered Cambridge Examination Center, enabling students to pursue the prestigious International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The school celebrated the graduation of its first AS Level cohort in 2004 and saw its first A Level cohort graduate through Cambridge International Examinations in 2020.

Expansion with EMS Wakra and EMS Khor

EMS expanded its reach by founding EMS Wakra in 2011 and EMS Khor in 2013. EMS Khor became a registered Cambridge International Examination Center in 2015, further enhancing its academic offerings. In 2024, EMS Khor added A Level courses, broadening its curriculum and opportunities for students.

International School Accreditations

In 2008, EMS received its first international accreditation by becoming a member or candidate of the Council of International Schools (CIS). The journey continued with the school becoming a NEASC candidate in 2012, achieving full NEASC accreditation in 2015.

QNSA and Voucher Approval

EMS initiated the Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) process in 2011 and was approved to receive education vouchers in June 2012. EMS Wakra earned QNSA accreditation in 2014, followed by EMS Khor in 2015.

Further NEASC Accreditations and Re-accreditations

Both EMS Wakra and EMS Khor achieved NEASC accreditation in 2020, reinforcing the consistent quality of education across all campuses. EMS Doha successfully completed its NEASC re-accreditation in 2022, with EMS Khor scheduled for re-accreditation in 2024 and EMS Wakra in 2025.

QNSA National Identity Accreditation

EMS Doha earned QNSA accreditation for National Identity in 2022, emphasizing the school’s commitment to integrating Qatari culture and values into its educational approach. EMS Wakra and EMS Khor are set to receive their QNSA National Identity accreditation in 2024.

British School Memberships

In 2016, all EMS campuses became members of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), aligning the schools with best practices in British education. In 2022, they were approved by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), ensuring that EMS meets the high standards required for international British schools.

Innovation and Recognition

EMS Doha became the first Google Referenced School in Qatar in 2021, highlighting its commitment to leveraging technology in education. EMS Wakra followed suit as the second Google Referenced School in Qatar in 2023.
