Job Title: Intern Teacher

Job Summary:
An intern teacher’s main responsibility is to fulfill the role of a substitute teacher. This position provides valuable teaching experience by working in a variety of classrooms, with the intern teacher being the first choice for daily cover assignments arranged by school administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Classroom Support:
-
Show strong knowledge of learning theory and provide teaching-learning experiences that help students achieve stated outcomes
-
Plan a variety of teaching strategies to match the learning styles of all students
-
Clearly define the purpose for all learning activities
-
Incorporate “Cambridge Learner Attributes” (CLA) in teaching
-
Use media and technology to enhance lesson delivery and student performance
-
Provide a classroom environment conducive to learning
-
Give one-on-one attention to students needing extra help
-
Accompany and assist on field trips
-
Perform supervision duties as assigned by Principal or designate
-
Attend department meetings when required
-
Provide positive behavior management in class and around school premises
-
Participate in the After School Activities program by leading one session per term
-
Use free time to learn from others
-
Attend all school Professional Development sessions
-
Pursue further learning of subject area(s) and seek best pedagogy for school’s goals
Communication:

Speak clearly, honestly, and with great concern for others

Use fresh analogies to connect new concepts to students’ experience

Vary means (visual, audible, tactile) and language depending on subject and student needs

Maintain professional confidence about school information (students, teachers, administrators, parents)

Adhere to school policies and guidelines

Assist students beyond the classroom (playground, hallways, extracurricular, personal guidance)

Meet with staff members to exchange advice for helping students meet school goals

Model and encourage cultural awareness and understanding

Educational Qualification:Β Teaching Certificate & Bachelor’s Degree
