Job Summary:
A School Doctor serves as an advocate for the health and wellbeing of students and staff within the school. This role is responsible for maintaining effective health services procedures and providing first-rate medical services to ensure both staff and students can function at their highest level.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Services & Clinical Care:

  • Conduct clinical examinations for students referred by teachers

  • Provide care to students with chronic illnesses (allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.)

  • Respond to emergency medical situations and ensure appropriate immediate attention

  • Refer students requiring advanced care to hospitals or other medical providers

  • Monitor referred students for follow-up care and health concerns

  • Consult with parents regarding children’s health conditions and recommend further evaluations

Health & Safety Oversight:

  • Implement vaccination awareness programs in accordance with the Supreme Council of Health

  • Enforce communicable disease prevention protocols

  • Monitor school sanitation and hygiene; report potential hazards to the Head of School

  • Collect and send water samples for quality/safety testing each term

  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations regarding school medical services

Record-Keeping & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all clinic visits by students and staff

  • Keep detailed student medical records

  • Produce statistical reports on clinic visits and communicate trends to the Head of School

  • Ensure all required health records are properly maintained

Training & Supervision:

  • Supervise school nurses (if applicable)

  • Provide training to school nurses on health-related topics (CPR, disaster preparedness, child abuse, medication management, etc.)

  • Make presentations to school staff about medical concerns and procedures

Communication & Community Engagement:

  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and respectfully with all stakeholders

  • Exercise tact when conveying sensitive information

  • Participate in school activities requiring a first aid responder

  • Liaise with medical service providers and government agencies

  • Model cultural awareness and understanding

Resource Management:

  • Recommend necessary medical supplies and equipment

  • Use all school resources wisely

  • Keep the clinic clean, neat, and tidy

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate superior

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications:

    • Medical degree from an accredited university

    • Licensed to practice medicine in Qatar

    • Minimum 5 years of successful experience as a medical practitioner

  • Skills/Competencies:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and composure

    • Enthusiastic personality with strong interpersonal skills

    • Problem-solving ability and service orientation

    • Emergency response capability

    • Planning, organizing, and multitasking skills

    • Language proficiency: English/Arabic (Arabic is a must)

  • Terms of Employment:

    • Initial contracts: 2 years

    • Subsequent contracts: 1 year

    • Salary determined by placement on salary grid according to experience
