Reports To: Head of Teaching and Learning (or designate)

Job Summary:
The Teaching and Learning Coordinator is responsible for modeling, sharing, and promoting effective teaching practices to enhance instructional quality across the school. This role focuses on curriculum development, teacher support, data analysis, and the implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Alignment:

  • Guide staff in the consistent delivery and coordination of a vertically aligned Cambridge Curriculum

  • Organize and oversee annual horizontal and vertical curriculum reviews

  • Evaluate Key Stage 3 curriculums to ensure alignment with Cambridge International Education frameworks

  • Identify opportunities for cross-curricular collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Principal – Academic to review, recommend, and order textbooks and educational materials

  • Liaise with the Head of Teaching and Learning and coordinators from sister campuses to optimize alignment and continuity

Instructional Support & Coaching:

  • Model, share, and discuss effective teaching practices, strategies, and skills with teachers

  • Monitor and support teachersโ€™ classroom practices, especially those identified as needing additional support

  • Assist teachers with data collection and analysis

  • Develop and provide instructional materials for teachers as needed

  • Promote ESL (English as a Second Language) instructional strategies

Assessment & Data Analysis:

  • Support the delivery of school-wide assessments from Cambridge

  • Analyze student data alongside the Assistant Principal – Academic and produce reports for senior leadership

  • Make recommendations for instructional improvements based on data analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student performance data to identify areas for improvement

Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with the School Principal to create and implement the school’s professional development plan

  • Train teachers and instructional staff in new content or programs

  • Identify measurable benchmarks for teacher and student improvement

  • Facilitate training and structured coaching sessions

  • Support Year Group Leaders and Heads of Department in their development as reflective leaders

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Champion the teaching and learning aspects of the schoolโ€™s strategic plan

  • Collaborate with the 21st Century Coordinator and Assistant Principal – Academic to implement key skills curriculum

  • Work with the Assistant Principal – Pastoral, Heads of Year, and Counselors to implement the pastoral curriculum

  • Support the development of effective collaborative teams

  • Participate in drafting report card standards and the report card review process

  • Collaborate on orders of educational resources and classroom furniture

Communication & Community Building:

  • Keep the school community informed about the curriculum and instructional program

  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and respectfully

  • Provide and receive constructive feedback to improve performance

  • Support administrators, teachers, and support staff

  • Model and encourage cultural awareness and understanding

Organizational Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of meetings with teachers

  • Attend all staff and parent meetings consistently and punctually

  • Use school resources wisely and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate superior

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification:ย Minimum Bachelorโ€™s degree (Masterโ€™s Degree in Education preferred)

  • Experience:ย Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience

  • Competencies:

    • Strong analytical skills to examine student data and recommend instructional improvements

    • Extensive knowledge of literacy, numeracy, and student development

    • Proficient technology skills

    • Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English

    • Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively

    • Attention to detail and organizational capability
